Logis Hôtel Le Manoir Des Portes

We really liked this place, a lovely old building full of oak beams, beautiful surroundings, and very peaceful. Emmanuel and all the other staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and breakfast was good with one exception, a bowl full of cold hard boiled eggs, a black coating on the yokes which isn't a good sign. I wondered how long they'd been there, I didn't see anyone else try one. Every other place on this trip provided fresh eggs, boiled to order, surely an essential requirement in any non-basic hotel? Finally the cuisine, I'd say it was good, but not quite good enough to justify the cost. I was talking to the Chef on the morning of our last day, and he told me he'd be serving cabillaud avec sauce homard, cod with lobster sauce that evening. We both ordered this and it was a little disappointing, overcooked slightly dry cod in an uninspiring sauce, not something to complain about, but it should have been better, desserts on the other hand were excellent. We would love to come here again though, maybe we'd have better luck next time.

We arrived late after a long drive and found that there had been a problem with our booking. This was very quickly rectified and we enjoyed a fabulous meal in the restaurant: the scallops and chicken were both excellent. Friendly staff. Excellent yoghurt at breakfast.

Beautiful setting by a lake just on the edge of town in open countryside it was a converted very old farm house 1600's absolutely spotlessly clean , very friendly staff , very highly recomended.

Quiet, with a lovely garden. The owners and staff were friendly and the hotel dog, Ice, is super cute! A half Hour drive to Saint Malo and Cap Erquy for amazing hikes and views.

Beautiful and typical Logis in a lovely old building. Quiet setting, friendly welcome, safe bicycle storage inside. Good heating and ventilation at night. Evening 3 course meal was very good.
